This Texas powerhouse is wowing audiences and sparking a movement with her vibrant musical and vocal talent. Her sound is known for being raw and authentic, with a meaningful backstory, alongside playful and sassy tracks that keep things fun.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, this singer-songwriter embodies the phrase “Country music with attitude,” a style she embraces wholeheartedly. Her original songs go beyond the hat and boots, blending Honky-Tonk, Americana, Outlaw, Western, Rockabilly, Tejano, and Gospel, all while showcasing her impressive vocal range. Fueled by a love for country music, she found inspiration in legends like The Judds, Johnny Cash, George Strait, Loretta Lynn, and Patsy Cline—artists her mother often played—alongside the rich sounds of traditional Tejano and Gospel.
On March 28th, the Mayor of Austin proclaimed it as Janie Balderas Day, and her band marked the occasion with a performance at City Hall. She’s also appeared on Good Day Austin, Songwriters Across Texas, We are Austin, Balcony TV and appeared with Fred Cantu on the CBS Telemundo Chuy's Float.
Balderas is passionate about giving back to the community, fueled by her philanthropic spirit. She’s teamed up with the Tattoo Mark Foundation (Bears for Kids) and hosts a Music segment on 99% Radio Network. Annually she’s part of the Celebrity Softball Classic, supporting veterans and other great causes and also involved with Helping a Hero, another organization close to her heart.
She’s opened for big names like Clay Walker, Gary P. Nunn, Rick Trevino, Kylie Frey, Josh Ward, Jake Worthington, Micky and the Motorcars, and Kyle Nix. She’s also shared the stage with legends like Dale Watson and Gary P. Nunn and even performed with the world-famous Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán. When she’s not headlining with her band or playing acoustic sets, you might catch her singing the National Anthem or God Bless America at events like NASCAR, MLB, MILB, PBR, rodeos, and concerts. She’s also hosted as an emcee for one of Waco, Texas’ biggest concerts, the Margarita Festival. Balderas has lit up iconic stages including the Broken Spoke, Antique Archaeology for American Pickers in Nashville, Luckenbach, Gruene Hall as a special guest, and the Paramount Theater, among other notable venues.
Balderas has scored multiple award nominations for Song of the Year, Americana Vocalist of the Year, and Country Rising Star at the JMA's held at the Grand Ole Opry. Her 2024 single “Revival” made a splash in the music world, holding the #1 spot on the TIRC Music chart before retiring at the top, and earning a nomination for Emerging Song of the Year from both the TIRC Awards and the JMA Awards. Her 2021 hit “Busted” struck a chord with fans for its Americana and Outlaw style, reaching #7 on TIRC. In 2025, her track “He Ain’t Foolin" climbed into the top 5 on TIRC, and her latest release, “Baptized” debuted on several music charts in its first week and is already making waves in the music scene. Her music is available on all streaming platforms, and you can even request her latest release, "Baptized," on the radio. It’s a powerful track that shares a meaningful part of her story.
